The chair of the tax commission said greater levels of corruption mean greater chances of a tax revolt.
Yesterday, chair of the tax commission Judge Dennis Davis said there was a risk of a tax revolt because so much money was wasted on corruption.
Davis also said the greater the level of corruption, the greater the chance of a tax revolt.
But Sars spokesperson Sandile Memela says people are filing their tax returns during the tax season.
“We are very proud to say our citizens have come forward to pay their taxes and they continue to. In fact we expect a dramatic rise in the last couple of days or two weeks [of the tax return season].”
