South Africa’s high incidence of crime is going viral, with footage from CCTV and private security, reflecting some of the country’s most shocking and brutal crimes, making its way on to YouTube.
In one of the most shocking incidents, Durban man Ryan Sutherland and a friend are ambushed by two men with a panga and knife, hidden in bushes outside Sutherland’s home in 2013. A third man joins in the attack, which sees them stab Sutherland twice, then enter his home through the kitchen, terrifying a woman inside. – Watch footage as Ryan talks about leaving South Africa. A recent study showed that 1 in 3 white South Africans are thinking about leaving South Africa permanently. Also see how the police are playing it down as usual. With over 50 murders a day according to our latest crime stats, one cannot continue to deny the obvious any longer.
SPEECH BY FORMER PRESIDENT FW DE KLERK TO THE BONDSRAAD, VOORTREKKER MONUMENT PRETORIA, May 29 2015
OUR FUTURE IS IN OUR OWN HANDS
It is a great honour for me to address this important meeting of the Bondsraad at the Voortrekker Monument - this national shrine which is so central to the identity, the history and the soul of our people.
President Mugabe has called on South Africans to direct their xenophobia at whites instead of blacks. ‘I give poison not for you to swallow but to give to someone else’ he told the applauding staff at SADC Headquarters in Botswana.
Just a couple days ago two radical Jihadist “known-wolves” living in Phoenix drove 1,000 miles to Garland, Texas; locked and loaded, to commit mayhem on a free speech event featuring a contest for cartoonists to draw Muhammad, a forbidden act in Islam.
Durban – The controversial Dubul’ iBhunu (Shoot the Boer) song reared its ugly head during an emotionally charged public meeting debating the merger of the financially crippled Mpofana (Mooi River) and uMngeni (Howick and Hilton) municipalities.
Durban – President Jacob Zuma was cheered and jeered as he attempted to calm xenophobic tensions during a quick whirlwind visit of a refugee camp in Durban.
Zuma was cheered when he told the hundreds of refugees encamped on a sports field in the Westcliff area of Durban’s Chatsworth suburb that the government would help them to address their concerns, whether it was to stay in the country or to return home.

We are shocked by the recent xenophobic attacks in South Africa… and yet I’m not. While many of us may try to practice love and tolerance towards others, xenophobic attitudes remain deep and widespread — the recent events have just brought them to the surface once again.
African-based terror groups Boko Haram and al-Shabaab’s threats to attack South Africans in retaliation for xenophobic violence should not be taken lightly.
